Angel Wings on A Budget

1

Card Base

Fold each sheet of paper in half and then fold again. Set one aside for later as your card base. Unfold the other sheet and cut out one quarter of the page along the folds.

2

Wings base

Take the quarter piece and fold in half. If you have a pencil you can sketch a wing on one half and cut it out while fold to get two matching wings.

3

Wings Strip

Cut a strip of paper as long as the two wings setting side by side. Fold it in half and then fold about a third of one side to the fold. Repeat with other side so you end-up with the strip looking like the photo.

4

Gluing Wing

Glue one wing to each side of the folded strip. (Look at photo to see exact location.)

5

Cutting Teardrops

Cut lots of small teardrop shapes from the remaining paper. (I used twice as many small teardrops as shown in the photo for each wing.)

6

Gluing Teardrops

Place a dot of glue on the wide end of a teardrop and place onto one wing starting at the bottom tip. Glue additional teardrops in rows across the wing, lining up the tips in a line. Save larger teardrops for the very top edge. You may have to angle the top feathers to follow the wing shape. Repeat on the other wing.

7

Curling Feathers

Once glue had died starting at the bottom of the wings gently curl up the feather tips that the teardrops have becoming.

8

Adhering Wings to Card

Glue the center of the folded strip holding the wings to the front of your card base.

9

Finishing Card

You can now use crayons, makers, stamps, pens to write your message on the card.

While the cutting out and gluing of the teardrops is time consuming, if you are making this in remembrance of someone, consider each teardrop as a memory of that person. Your teardrops will turn in to angel’s wings for the person. The wings form a comforting heart on the front of the card.
