A Little Bird Told Me-Mixed Media Birthday Card

1

Paint black cardstock with Crackle Glaze and dry with a heat tool. Mix three parts chalk paint to one part metallic lustre paint and spread it in one direction to cover the glaze. Allow the streaks from the metallic paint to stay unmixed and dry with the heat tool.

2

Apply Glitter Kiss to a piece of Ruby Red cardstock large enough to cut the two sentiments from, then set aside to dry. Die-cut a frame using the Double Stitched Rectangles Set B and add 3D foam pads on the reverse.

3

Cut the birdhouses from Coconut White cardstock and stencil through them with Cosy Clay Chalk Cloud ink.  Die-cut the roof and fence pieces in red or blue cardstock and assemble.

4

Cut the branch in tan cardstock and ink the leaves with Green Apple. Die-cut two small birds from out of tan cardstock and ink their bellies with red and blue ink before adhering them to the birdhouses.

5

Cut the crackle pieces into 1” strips, roughening the edges with scissors, then attach to a piece of black cardstock as shown. Attach the white frame over the top and trim any excess.

6

Die-cut the sentiment out from Glitter Kissed red cardstock and adhere the ‘little birdie’ sentiment to a white flag die-cut with 3D foam pads as shown, then add the other sentiment as shown.

7

Affix the branch to the left of the frame and add the birdhouses as shown. Cut two stands out of tan cardstock, trimming one to use as an extension to the full-sized stand. Complete the card with a white pierced matt layer and one more final white matt.
