What are Oxford Bags?

Whether you call them trousers or pants, one thing is for sure - Oxford Bags make a statement! The key elements of this style is the high waist and wide leg. The original versions usually had a button fly, solid waistband and deep pockets. Originally popularised by the trendy students of Oxford in the 1920s, Oxford Bags saw a resurgance in popularity in the Northern Soul movement of the 1970s. It's easy to see how this style influenced other popular trends of the 20th century too, from Zoot Suits to hippie flares!
